Custer State Park Wildlife Loop and Needles Highway Tour

This 7-8 hour narrated tour takes us down through the Custer State Park Wildlife Loop to see the buffalo herds. In the spring there are around 1300 buffalo including newborn calves in the park. There are also antelope, deer, prairie dogs, begging burros and breath-taking scenery. We make a comfort stop by the State Game Lodge area at Coolidge Inn Store or the Peter Norbeck Visitor Center. We also drive through the famous Needle’s Eye Highway and Cathedral Spires granite formations, and over the Iron Mountain Road with pigtail bridges and tunnels that frame Mt. Rushmore. We will stop so you can buy your lunch at one of the Custer State Park Resort dining rooms, then we drive back to Rapid City. The price of this tour is $110 per person plus 6% state sales tax which includes the admission to Custer State Park. (If the tour runs substantially over the allotted time additional charges may apply.) Guide gratuities are at your discretion. Lunch is at your own expense. We provide cold bottled water in our vans and you may bring any snacks you like.
